Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

  • Please realize that on the first day of school, the parking lots will be full of people parking their cars and walking their children into school.  You may want to plan accordingly if you have a tight schedule.  PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE DROP-OFF AREA IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.  I hope to limit the confusion and traffic congestion as much as possible on a daily basis.
  • Students need to make sure they have a copy of their schedule with them on the first day so they know where to go.  We will have a copy of student schedules in 1st period.  First period classes will be posted in the main hallway so that students can check to see who their 1st period teacher is.
  • Our school day is from 8:25 to 3:50.  Students can enter the building at 7:50.
  • 5th graders will go to the gym when they get to school and 6th graders will go directly to the cafeteria.
  • If you plan on walking your child into the school on the 1st day, please enter through the front office and bring your Driver’s License to be scanned.  All visitors will need to have a visitors badge while in the building.
  • Please make sure that your child knows how they will be getting home.  If your child rides the bus, please make sure that they know their bus number.
  • If your child will be a CAR RIDER in the afternoon, you will need a car tag for your car each afternoon.  These tags will be available for you at Schedule Pick Up and morning drop off.  Please write your child’s LAST NAME, FIRST NAME in BOLD letters.  You will place this on your dashboard of your car each day when picking up.  This line will take longer than normal to get through so please be patient. It is advised to not try and be early. Coming later will get you through faster.
  • Students will need a backpack, paper to write on and something to write with on the 1st day.  Please wait until the second day of school to bring other purchased school supplies.  Teachers will inform students on the first day the process for managing and turning these supplies in.
  • If a student is in Orchestra or Band, they are NOT to bring their instrument until the teacher instructs them.
  • FIRST WEEK WALKERS/BIKE RIDERS – If you want to walk with your student, please wait for them outside on the front west side of the building. Walkers exit the building through the fine arts hallway exit but please do NOT wait there. Our Special Services buses are also loading there. Make a plan of where and when to meet.
  • YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CALL THE SCHOOL FOR A CHANGE IN AFTERNOON ROUTINE IF YOUR CHILD ALREADY KNOWS. FOR EXAMPLE, IF THEY ARE A CAR RIDER ONE DAY INSTEAD OF A WALKER, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INFORM THE SCHOOL AS LONG AS YOUR CHILD KNOWS.
